Easy to find and in a perfect location to really enjoy Airlie beach. You are on the high road so a few minutes walk away from the bars and clubs and everything on there you want to see. You can also get to the lagoon in about 3-4 minutes and bide your days away there - recommended! All the tours also pickup from outside this hostel which is massively ideal - I went on a helicopter reef tour and a Whitsundays boat tour which were both fantastic. The reception staff were lovely on the whole though I did face some defensive attitude when I enquired about the hostel "party reputation" and if there was a noise policy at all. While it is a party hostel I have come across other Nomads with a 11pm off you go the clubs policy - good to know when going to sleep if you need your earplugs or not. As it turned out it was a lovely mix of party atmosphere in the adjacent pub on the high street while a bit more chill near where the rooms are. I enjoyed being able to access both. Shout out to the staff on cleaning, they come round each day and were putting their all into it. The rooms and bathrooms were so clean and they were friendly, smiley and cheerful as well. Hats off to you all! The rooms themselves are set up in this unexpected but fabulous holiday village / campsite style with lots of log cabin esk buildings set up down a path and around a couple of swimming pools and social areas. The cabin I was in had 2 rooms of 8 with some benches set up outside for you to sit and relax...and dry your wet swimwear on ;) from your days out on the reef! Inside there was lots of space for the 8 regular metal bunk beds and there was a clean adjacent bathroom with 2 showers and a toilet for each room. The access was again by e-card via the same app I've used at other hostels in Australia so easy peasy! Beds were comfy and set up well, no complaints at all. Natural light comes in from the windows at the front.

The staff in reception were fantastic! Upon check in, the lovely female receptionist told us our room was at the very back of the complex so a bit of a walk away and on the ground floor. She advised there was a room of the same type closer to the amenities and upstairs if we wanted to switch which I appreciated so much and we took her up on the offer. (Because we liked the room so much we actually ended up extending another 2 nights!) The private room was very spacious, had a big tv and a large bathroom. Location is great, seconds to the high street and there’s bus stops outside for getting to the marina/greyhound if you have lots of bags or can’t be bothered to walk! Amenities were a good size and had everything you needed, plus it had Boatys which did food and drinks along with an event for the hostel every night.

We stayed in a private en suite room - this was very spacious with a walk in closet & basic kitchenette area. Huge smart TV and comfort bed with nice clean bedding. The complex is huge but very well maintained. We didn’t use the shared kitchen but it looked big and clean. We quickly nipped into the shared bathroom unit on our way out & were surprised with how clean & well kept it was. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend.

It was a spacious room with a very comfortable king-size bed and basic kitchen- sink, fridge, electric kettle. It was a short walk to the Main Street of Airlie and the foreshore. The staff responded immediately with a brand new fridge and shower rose when I alerted them to the fact that the fridge was making an awful noise and had to be turned off for me to to get to sleep, and the shower rose was behaving like a tap.

Carrie

The cleanness of the place, they were all the time cleaning the kitchen, the rooms every morning. And the personal were very nice, all foreign, backpackers with an amazing vibe and keen to help you with everything. Specially the Peruvian girl at the reception, she was the best! Johanna. Thanks for all your help and good vibe!.
